Common questions, honest answers.

Are these tests real clinical instruments?
Yes — Psyche Spark uses validated screening tools including PHQ-9 (depression), GAD-7 (anxiety), PCL-5 (PTSD), Big Five (TIPI), AUDIT (alcohol use), ASRS (ADHD), AQ-10 (autism), and many more. These are the same instruments primary care doctors and clinicians use. They're screeners, not diagnostic tools — only a trained professional can diagnose.
How does Psyche Spark differ from a free online quiz?
Three things:
- AI reads patterns across all your tests, not just one score in isolation. The picture gets richer with every assessment you take.
- Couples mode pairs two reports into one shared map — side-by-side comparison + AI Couple Portrait + 8 repair tools.
- Three depths per test (quick / standard / research-grade), so you can go deeper on the ones that matter.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your test results are encrypted and stored in your free Puter account. Psyche Spark itself never sees raw user data on its own servers. You can export or delete everything at any time. We don't sell or share data with anyone. See our full privacy policy for details.
Can I cancel my subscription? What about refunds?
Yes — cancel anytime with one click in account settings. We also offer a 60-day money-back guarantee on all plans (including lifetime). Email us within 60 days for a full refund, no questions asked.
How does couples mode work?
You and your partner each take the tests separately. You then share a private pair-code (no email or phone exposure) to link your accounts. Once paired:
- Every test you've both taken shows up as a side-by-side comparison
- Our AI generates a Couple Portrait reading both reports — strengths, friction patterns, where to invest
- You both get access to 8 repair tools (Soft Startup Builder, Apology Generator, etc.)
- One subscription covers both of you
You can see a real example couples report (Alex & Jordan) before signing up.
Is the AI giving therapy?
No. The AI insight is a thoughtful analyst that connects patterns across your test results — it's not a therapist, and it doesn't diagnose or treat. Reflect (our AI companion) is a private space to process feelings and ask follow-up questions, but it's clear about its limits and points to human therapists when needed.
How does the therapist match work?
Once you've taken a few tests, our AI synthesizes your results — severity bands, attachment style, identified patterns — and ranks therapy providers by how well their specialty matches yours. You then click through to the provider's platform (BetterHelp, ReGain, Talkspace, Psychology Today, Open Path) where their intake takes over for the actual match. The deep-link URLs are pre-filtered to specialists who fit your profile, so you skip the "browse 200 random therapists" step.
Do you accept insurance?
Psyche Spark itself isn't covered by insurance — it's a self-assessment platform, not a billable medical service. But several of the therapy platforms we recommend (especially Talkspace) accept major insurers like Aetna, Cigna, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare for the actual therapy sessions.
